5th book of the serie Game Chager.
Troy Berret, best friend of the awful Kent Dallas, discovers that some girls have complained about sexual abuses from Kent. Recognizing the manners of Kent in the tell, he insults Kent in a training session, which goes public and get Troy traded to the Ottawa team.
This adds on top of Troy's boyfriend breaking with him.
Troy arrives in Ottawa reluctant and unhappy. His team is one of the worst of the NHL, which doesn't improve his mood. As Troy shows that he is not the asshole that his association to Kent gave him, he discovers that his team is warmhearted and welcoming. He also meet Harris, the social manager of the team, to which he will fall in love.
The book follows the progression of Kent to his acceptation and public outing. And obviously follows the relation that establishes between him and Harris.
A topic that is specific to this book is the voice that Troy is trying to express about sexual assault and protection of that, despite some pressure from high in the NHL hierarchy to make him shut up. This topic is a light thread, not the main plot.
The story remains quite pleasant and interesting. I read the book in a very short amount of time and I liked it. The story felt a bit more similar to the previous book, less of a new romance or new topics to explore and more like the previous one.
